NoMad’s first international hotel lands in London
Hands up if you’ve walked past the old Bow Street Magistrates Court in Covent Garden and thought, that would make a really great hotel? And not any hotel, oh no. Something smart, refined, edgy but not silly edgy, sophisticated but not stuffy, elegant and timeless yet somehow… now. Heck, a bit like you! Well blow us down with your lightest feather, Andrew Zobler has only gone and done the honours. And early 2021’s the ish-date for your Smythson.
Those of you who know your hotel onions will be down with Andrew Zobler, whose Sydell Group is behind such superstars as The Ned, The Line in LA and the triptych of NoMads in the US; NYC, LA and Las Vegas. NoMad London will be the first international outpost from the brand and will offer 91 keys (rooms in old money), each and every one designed by Roman and Williams, who also collaborated with Sydell on Ace New York and all the Freehand Hotels. There’ll be all-day dining in the light-swamped Atrium, after-dark fun down in the East London-inspired Common Decency, and right there on the corner, where the entrance to the police station used to be, The Side Hustle, NoMad’s take on ye olde British pub.
