Larry’s, down Peckham.

Now, we love big old gay old Larry Levan, Paradise Garage DJ supreme, as much as the next person but we reckon the folks behind some of south London’s coolest fooderies are taking it a little far. Down in Peckham, for instance, they already have a restaurant called Levan and are about to open Larry’s next door, saying that it’s all been created to be something LL might have popped into for a bite after a hard night on the decks (apparently that counts as work, playing records). The menu is suitably NYC starting with coffee and pastries going through deli sandwiches and smoked cod’s roe and salt beef beignets with a not-half-bad wine list. Cool and gritty décor-wise (well, it is Peckham), the tunes, we imagine, are going to be flawless.

Opens Friday 31st July, 12-16 Blenheim Grove, Peckham
