A Streetcar Named Desire

We won't hear a word against Gillian Anderson. We may occasionally say one but we certainly won't hear it even if we do. And that's why we are very excited at the prospect of seeing her as one of the 20th century's greatest theatrical characters, Blanche Dubois, in the highly acclaimed National Theatre production of Tennessee Williams' Streetcar Named Desire (just think of Blanche as a gay man and you're halfway there...) Yes, that production. The one you couldn't get tickets for, not even for ready money. Well, now you can save that cash and spend it on interval drinks at supermarket prices as the self-same show is running on the National Theatre's lockdown-friendly At Home season. Vanessa Kirby, her who played Princess Margaret in the first series of The Crown is Stella and Ben Foster as Staaaaaanley shows us all how to wear a wife-beater. We feel steamy in a Southern sort of way just thinking about it.
