Have Her Majesty on your coffee table!
If there’s one thing HMTQ (Her Majesty The Queen, who else would it be?) is good at it’s having her photo taken. Always has been. Whether it’s a floaty white dress designed by big old dolly old Norman Hartnell for the Coronation or something boxy and bright by some other big old dolly old designer, she’s got that photogenic thing. She pops.
Anyways, now someone has had the idea of collecting some of those photographs together in a big book that would make perfect Christmas giftage for a mum, an aunt… or oneself. It’s from Taschen, famous for their big reasonably priced coffee-table books and it traces the life and work of Her Maj from the early lesbian-look short haircuts and tweeds days to the Vanity Fair portraits from Annie Leibovitz.
Weddings, state tours, jubilees, state dinners, it’s all covered in all its sparkling real-diamonds-thank-you glamour with supporting shots of tarts like Princess Margaret by everyone from David Bailey through Litchfield to Nick Knight.
You don’t have to be a monarchist to want it but we think it would probably help.
