Hark! It’s a Selfridges Christmas market!
It’s the most *checks notes* wonderful time of the year, even if Santa’s had to suck the alcohol out of those Lynx Africa deodorant sticks that have been piling up just to get this year’s party started.
But ever the harbingers of taste, fun, smelly things and lovely shop windows, Selfridges have jumped in on the 2020 yuletide action and created their very own, very first, very al fresco Christmas Market.
Located just behind the big boy itself – that’d be Edward Mews – The Christmas Market on the Mews will be a frost-tipped utopia of all that’s good and tasty about Santa Season. Oh, and because we’re talking Selfridges there’ll be lots of just, you know, gorgeous things.
The whole shebang – hebang, we won’t judge – is being orchestrated by Dominic Cools-Lartigue, the chap behind Street Feast, and you’ll be getting food trucks and stalls from the likes of Shoreditch’s Tramshed Project and Fundi Pizza, Ask Mummy & Daddy (that wasn’t an order, they’re a thing. They do vegan pick ‘n’ mix!) and Pabellon (also good for vegans. Check out their arepas), plus fairground rides, gifts from independent British brands, a tunnel of light because why not, and lashings of mulled wine. Lashings, we tell you.
‘We’re very excited to welcome customers back into our London store with the addition of our brilliant new Christmas Market, a destination for visitors to become immersed in the joy of Christmas,’ says Selfridges store director, Meave Wall. ‘With the help of Dominic, we’ve brought together some of the best food traders in London, alongside fairground rides and stalls with gifts from independent British brands.’
Selfridges’ Christmas Market on The Mews is open daily throughout December, from 4-9pm on weekdays, 12-9pm on the weekends.
