The name on everybody’s lips is gonna be… Moxy!

Moxy have already done the jammy thing and filled a gaping niche in the New York hotel scene; design-forward boutique hotels with an emphasis on fun, unpretentious frills and good lighting, in Chelsea, Times Square and the East Village – the sort of stuff that would cost heaven and the odd earth around the corner. And they’re doing it again, in Miami.

Moxy South Beach is their first resort property, opening in January on Washington Avenue so just seconds from the beach – minutes in those corky wedges – and they’re throwing all the glamour at this eight-storey homage (homo-age, seeing as you ask, as the Moxys are v popular with the gays) to luscious living, dining, drinking, lounging, co-working, more drinking, possibly on that inflatable that makes your Speedos pop.

It’s the in-out vibe that will get you right there, whether it’s brunch on the terrace, all the right cocktails in the cabanas that line the 72-foot pool, a rooftop bar just for hotel guests (thank you!), your own private Moxy Beach Club or the six (count ‘em!) dining and drinking venues from those clever people who brought you Coyo Taco and 1-800-LUCKY.

And the location, on Washington and 10th, couldn’t be better if even they do say so themselves. Twist is a block away, Palace two, and Ocean Drive… well, there ain’t nowhere quite so dolly-wotsit with all the trimmings as Ocean Drive, so best start working on that South Beach body quicker than you can say Gloria Estefan’s Miami Sound Machine.
