Is this Lake Como’s sexiest new address? (That’d be a yes.)
The trouble with Lake Como is, aside from all the natural loveliness and George Clooney and generalised wealth, the hotels tend to be a bit, you know, grandma’s parlour. Well, not since Il Sereno opened with its 30 waterfront suites all with floor-to-ceiling windows and large furnished terraces in a style that is modern and crisper than your average Ryvita biscuit. And that’s not all. They are now launching a new penthouse suite concept: we love penthouses, we love suites and we love a concept, so what’s not to die for? The inspiration for designer Patricia Urquiola - as it tends to be in Italy - is La Dolce Vita. And with an indoor/outdoor restaurant with its very own Michelin star and a spa with Valmont treatments, what’s the betting George and Amal (or Miss Nitrate as we’re sure someone calls her) have been sniffing around.
